Monorail Crane Periodic Inspection

Monorail Crane Periodic Inspection

Unlike fixed cranes, monorail cranes are movable cranes that can move. It is a wheeled and motorized vehicle. It consists of two main parts, a car and a crane section. These are the cranes known as suspended type that can operate in vertical and horizontal axes on profile or single-girder bridge cranes. Monorail cranes can operate in 4 or 6 axes.

The maintenance of these machines is easy and easy to install. According to the models, the crane has a soft stopping ability during movement thanks to magnetic and disc brakes. This ensures safe lifting and transport. It works quietly, does not make noise.

In addition, long life is one of the most preferred reasons. It is among the lifting machines manufactured in accordance with the European Union standards. Crane parts are controlled by crane control. The remote control can also be integrated.

As a basic principle, they are used to carry loads on a straight or curved line. Steel ropes are generally used in industrial monorail cranes and chains are used in chain hoists. Chain type monorail cranes are compact and smaller in size, so they are preferred for handling small loads and generally up to three tons of cargo.

It is very important to ensure adequate safety around the crane during work. If necessary, the work area should be rearranged in such a way that the citizens cannot accidentally enter, isolated from the crowd, without any risk on the pedestrian and vehicle path.

Monorail cranes are the most common construction sites in our country as in the world. These machines, which can increase tons of weight within minutes and to height to meters, are also used in the assembly or dismantling of tower cranes. Since they carry both heavy loads and work with electricity, regular inspections of monorail cranes must be performed in order to avoid any health risk for the employees.

Monorail cranes are included in the group of lifting and conveying equipment in Annex 3 Maintenance, Repairs and Periodic Inspections of the Regulation on Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

Accordingly, in the relevant standards, if not otherwise specified, the monorail cranes shall be capable of safely lifting and suspending at least the 1,25 solid of the declared load. Monorail cranes must also have a load-resistant and sufficient force load brake. These points are always looked at during regular inspections.

Regular checks of monorail cranes are made by mechanical engineers, machine technicians or high technicians. According to the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment, monorail cranes must be checked at least once a year, unless otherwise specified in the relevant standards.

When starting inspection, the previous inspection reports of the monorail crane are examined. Previously determined non-conformities must be eliminated. The monorail crane is then inspected visually. Then the electric mechanisms and mechanical controls of the monorail crane are made. The next step is the functional controls of the monorail crane. Dynamic and static checks are performed in unloaded and loaded cases.
