Manlift Periodic Inspection

Manlift Periodic Inspection

It is a type of vehicle that can work with battery or diesel engine, which is more suitable for working on flat ground, can lift personnel up to 8m to 22m heights thanks to its scissor platform and helps to carry out its work easily. Platform dimensions can also be between 3 meters and 5 meters, as required by the job. In addition, platforms may have elongation and shortening properties.

They are also used frequently in loading areas or in factories. It is preferred for high welding or roller painting. In a sense, it acts as a mobile scaffold. In unexpected situations such as excessive wind or other vibrations, overloading or impact, manlifts lock themselves. In this way, possible accidents are prevented.

Manlift is very risky in terms of occupational health and safety as it carries people. The Annex to the Regulation on Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security has shown Annex 3 Maintenance, Repairs and Periodical Controls in the group of lifting and transmitting vehicles. In this way, unless otherwise specified in other regulations, periodic inspections and inspections of the lifters shall be carried out at least once a year.

As with other platforms and work equipment, manlifts must be inspected by authorized persons every year. Neither checks nor reports shall be deemed valid if control and inspection procedures are not performed by mechanical engineers, mechanical technicians or higher technicians as described in the Regulation.

Previous control reports, if any, of the manlifts that were previously in use are examined and first of all, it is checked whether any nonconformities detected before have been eliminated. Then the manlifts are visually checked. It is checked whether there is a visible defect or a problem with its connections. After that, mechanical and functional checks are made. It is checked whether it performs the expected functions with and without load.
