Grounding Periodic Inspection of Machines

Grounding Periodic Inspection of Machines

Almost all of the machines in large or small production facilities operate with electrical energy. When it comes to electricity, hazardous situations can occur for occupational safety and personnel health. In particular, dozens of electrical machines operating in industry can create very risky situations.

There are many safety precautions to be taken in the area of electricity in a workplace. Employing a full-time electrical technician in the workplace, insulating and insulating where necessary, keeping electrical distribution boards in a separate area, and so on. security measures such as this will prevent many adverse situations.

However, one of the most important points is the grounding issue. Because grounding eliminates most fatal accidents caused by electricity. It is the construction of the safety body grounding of all machines and machines working with electricity. Body grounding is to be pulled separately from each machine or workbench outside of the grounding of the panel and grounding with appropriate grounding rods.

The Regulation on Grounding in Electrical Installations issued by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources states that body groundings should be visible from the outside. This means that when looking at the machine or machine, a grounding line other than the normal power line should be seen.

Periodic inspections and controls of all kinds of grounding activities carried out at the relevant institution should be carried out annually. This work must be carried out by a qualified electrician. In addition, the grounding process must be done by the right and expert people. Otherwise, negative situations may occur.

For unstable machines and benches, since the body grounding line cannot be changed each time, there are grounded ends in the columns in the workplaces. The bodies of these benches or machines are connected to these grounding ends on a nearby column to ensure safety.

Every safety operation on electricity should be done meticulously and by taking into account the instructions in the Worker Health and Safety Regulation. Most of the accidents in the workplace occur due to lack of education. The employer is expected to inform the personnel on security issues periodically.

The directives in the regulation describe detailed information and what needs to be done on every subject. All exposed conductive parts of the machines, which are protected jointly with the same protection scheme, must be connected to a common grounding together with the protection conductors. If more than one protection scheme is used in series, this requirement applies separately to all exposed conductive parts protected by each scheme.

Neutral points of the machines or if this is not available, one phase conductor of each generator or transformer center must be earthed. In addition, it is necessary to test, measure and check the connection continuity of the protection conductors of the machines, the main and complementary potential equalization conductors. The highest resistance values are shown for protection conductors in the regulation.
