Jacking Periodic Inspection

Jacking Periodic Inspection

It is possible to lift large loads to the desired height according to the characteristics of the jack. It is a gear, screw, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic oil pressure-operated device that is used to lift anything heavy. The jack is used to lift loads that cannot be lifted by manpower and cannot be held for a long time, it is generally used in cars and vehicles. It is a type of jack in the pistons used in car dampers.

When lifting the lifting support arm located on the side of the jack in the hydraulic jacks, when the oil is filled into the piston reservoir, the oil in the reservoir squeezes and the piston lifts upwards, this process continues until we reach the desired level. When the lifting process is finished, the drain valve of the oil under the piston is turned down and the piston goes down.

In addition to hydraulic jacks, another type of jack used is mechanical jacks. There is no oil or hydraulic system inside these jacks which are mechanically lifted. In addition, the jacks are produced in various sizes and shapes according to the place of use and the weight and characteristics of the load to be lifted. There are lifting jacks up to 100 tons.

Improper use and regular inspection may jeopardize the safety of life and property, especially at work jacks. The jacks that operate with hydraulic system and come under very large weights operate on the basis of pressure applied on the compressed liquid. For this reason, periodical maintenance of the jacks in terms of the safety of the employees and the enterprise must be done.

The Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment introduces legal regulations in this regard. The minimum requirements for health and safety related to the work tools and equipment used in the workplaces are included in these legal regulations. It is mandatory to comply with these legal regulations issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in order to eliminate potential risks in terms of human health and employee safety on the one hand and property security on the other.

In the tables (Annex 3 Maintenance, Repair and Periodic Inspections) of the Regulation on Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment, jacks are included in the group of lifting and conveying tools. Therefore, if the jacks are not stipulated in the relevant standards, periodic checks and inspections are required at least once a year.
