Organic farming

What is Organic Agriculture

Organic farming and good agricultural practices apply different production methods. Unlike organic farming, synthetic chemical inputs (all plant protection products, including hormones, pesticides, and synthetic fertilizers) are used in Good Agricultural practices, although they have many common aspects, such as the prohibition of genetically modified organisms, traceability, animal welfare, control and certification. Due to these chemical inputs, the effects of Good Agricultural Products on human health, soil, water resources and nature cannot be compared with organic agricultural products.

"Organic Agriculture", which is defined by different words such as biological, ecological and bio, was born as an alternative method to overcome the negative effects of increasing use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides on agricultural and human health and commercial problems. In English-speaking countries, the term Organik Organic Agriculture için is used for agricultural methods in which ecological principles are applied in production, and in many other countries the equivalents of ek ecological agriculture kendi are used

In order to produce healthy products without disrupting the natural balance, the production controlled by a certification process and the organic production is called Organic Production and the products obtained in this way are called Organic Production by preferring the natural methods in plant protection and pest control by adopting the cultural measures as a priority in appropriate ecologies. .

Organic agriculture is applied in accordance with the following basic principles.

- No use of synthetic chemicals in production
- Use of biotechnical, biological and mechanical control methods in disease and pest control
-Using only natural substances to improve soil fertility
- Being an agricultural production without causing the depletion of natural resources

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the philosophy of protecting the environment, protecting natural resources and leaving a clean world to future generations without destroying natural resources has begun to form. As the use of synthetic chemicals as fertilizers and pesticides is increasing, the organic farming trend has started to grow.

although perceived as a new system organic farming is the oldest agricultural model in the world. Because the use of incorrect and excessive chemical fertilizer began after the second world war. In other words, organic farming, which is presented as new, is a method applied until recently. Both the increase in the use of chemical fertilizers and the erosion of natural resources caused by innovations brought by technological developments to agricultural techniques have started to pose a danger to human and animal health and organic agriculture has come to the agenda again as a trend towards the old.

With the development of the organic agriculture sector, countries needed to make legal arrangements and enacted organic agriculture laws regarding the production, processing and marketing of organic agricultural products. These legal regulations have provisions on what organic agriculture is, how it is done, how organic products are processed and marketed. From this point of view, organic agriculture has also become a good model of sustainable agriculture.
