ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System

ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System

In unexpected situations, especially in large firms, things suddenly turn upside down and if the unfavorable situation and ongoing process is not well managed, jobs may be interrupted and even bigger problems may arise for companies that do not have any preparation for such situations.

Generally, such negative situations occur outside the control of organizations and in unexpected ways. Sometimes the organization itself can unintentionally cause problems. Update, revision, etc. within the firm. Such practices may cause negative events that will prevent unexpected things from running. All these mentioned events can be handled within the scope of business continuity.

Every business, regardless of its large or small volume, has identified a number of processes to carry out its activities without interruption. The basis of the business continuity studies is how much of these interruptions can be removed, what should be done during the interruption to eliminate the interrupting situation and to restart the process, and how long it will take for the work to be done. If these identified issues are identified from the outset and application methods are explained, that degree of business continuity is ensured and the damages resulting from this are eliminated in a short time.

The Business Continuity Management System is designed for the organization to cope with such situations very easily and without being affected. ISO 22301 determines the needs of a necessary management system to protect against developments that may disrupt the continuity of your business, to minimize the possibilities of these developments and to ensure that your company returns to its former state immediately after such developments.

ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management System, establishes processes, procedures, decisions and activities in order to ensure the continuation of the establishment activity as a result of the interruption of an activity after an unexpected negative situation within the company, the ability of the organization to provide the products or services continues to be determined at acceptable levels. in other words, by proactive and reactive plans to help organizations avoid crises and disasters, they help ensure that such situations can be quickly restored to the usual situation.

The first standard studies on this subject started in 2003 by the British Standards Institute (BSI). However, these prepared standards were later withdrawn and BS 2006-25999: 1 Business Continuity Management: Code of Practice was published in 2006.

The system, which is now published as the Business Continuity Management System standard, has been implemented by more than XX countries. ISO 150 Business Continuity Management System is one of the most effective systems that should be managed in an organization. Unless there is an interruption in general, its importance is not understood but if an interruption occurs and is not managed well, it can cause serious losses in the organization.
