Air Microbiology Tests

Air Microbiology Tests

Although we are not aware of it, millions of microorganisms live in soil, water and air. Since microorganisms cause contamination, it is very important to purify the air from them, especially in production facilities operating in the cosmetics, food and pharmaceutical industries.

Microorganisms in the air can be found freely or depending on the invisible plant dusts, dust particles and other foreign substances in the air. The organizations that will carry out the air microbiology test to detect the microorganisms in the air we breathe will make the necessary collections during the specific periods when these creatures reproduce and develop. Samples taken from the air are examined in detail in the laboratory environment.

Air microbiology test organizations, all kinds of fungi, mold, bacteria and similar microorganisms used in the development of test kits use. The values obtained in the ventilated plants with appropriate and high quality methods are low. According to the results obtained from the tests, cleaning tools are used and the number of microogranisms after the cleaning is expected to be quite low.

Air microbiology analyzes in the pharmaceutical, health and food sectors are now being performed as part of standard quality control procedures. The ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System, BRC Food, Food Safety System, Halal Food Standards and HACCP Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points System standards applied in the food industry require a certain volume to be measured. This is the same for hospitals, operating theaters, intensive care units and all clean rooms.

There are many different types of microorganisms and some are added to the foodstuff, for example as primary cultures or probiotic cultures. Others may cause the product to spoil. In addition, pathogenic microorganisms can also be found in foodstuffs, and the control and control of all these types of microorganisms gives information about possible contamination in production, whether due to contaminated raw materials, when working with sensitive foodstuffs, or hygiene deficiencies in terms of the quality and stability of the desired microbiological flora.

Air microbiology analyzes conducted in various laboratories are based on the Turkish Food Codex Communiqué on Microbiological Criteria and the Hygiene Criteria Guidelines for Ready-to-Eat Foods. In these analyzes, international analysis methods such as ISO, AOAC, FDA-BAM, CCFRA, USPh, EPh are preferred.

Microbiological tests of health products are based on GMP Good Manufacturing Practices System and ISO 14644 Clean Room standards. Microbiological tests of cosmetic products are carried out to determine the microbiological quality of the products. European Pharmacopoeia, FDA BAM Chapter 23 analysis methods are used in the analyzes.

Gas and dust emissions, Velocity and volumetric gas flow, Special dust emissions, Measurement of VOC and other organic emissions, Dust tests in outdoor and workplace environments (PM10, PM2,5 and special powders), Measurement of inorganic and VOC, PAH, PCB and organic pollutants, Efficiency tests of gas and dust control systems are among the main tests for odor measurement in pollutant sources and outdoor air.

In addition to all these tests, analysis and measurements based on emission meteorological measurements, dispersion modeling and air pollution control tool design projects can also be performed.
