Electrical Panel Inspection

Electrical Panel Inspection

Electric panel; It is the cabin where components such as switchgear and cables are used together for distribution and transmission of electricity to the systems in the building. Maintenance of electrical panels should be done regularly in terms of occupational safety, worker health and continuity of work processes.

Many fires in workplaces and factories are caused by electricity. In these reasons, the absence of a leakage current relay, the use of appropriate cable cross-section, maintenance and checks are not done, the doors are not locked and so on. It comes.

Especially in workplaces, large transformers and electrical panels should be constructed and operated in a manner that will not cause any harm to life and property in any operating position. These switchboards and transformers are the most important element that ensures the safety and control of electricity in a plant. Electricity may make life easier, but controlled and safe use is an important condition. All the tools and equipment that require electricity in the enterprises to ensure the safe operation of the electrical installation and the tools that ensure the safety of the equipment is called electric panel.

Technical measures should be taken to prevent touching the live parts of the electrical installations at a distance where people may be carelessly approached directly or with devices used in daily life.

Panels for the distribution of electricity to the systems used in the enterprise, including electrical meters, capacitors, power contactors, measuring instruments, power relays, control relays, circuit breakers and electrical fuses, should be inspected regularly on an annual basis.

Electrical inspection and electrical panel inspection services include various test and control activities of a system extending from the point where electricity enters the building to the points where it is distributed. With these inspection procedures, it is aimed to minimize potential explosion, fire and similar risks and to identify points that will provide energy savings and increase efficiency in energy use.

According to the Regulation on Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security issued by the Law on Occupational Health and Safety, it is necessary to have the electrical panels inspected at least once a year if no other period is stipulated in other relevant regulations and standards.

In general, during the inspection, the location, physical condition, insulation properties, short circuit resistance, efficiency of the protective circuit, mechanical functionality, and heating increase are checked in the electrical panels. A report shall be drawn up for the results of the electrical panel inspection performed by authorized experts in inspection and test institutions.

These inspection reports are sought by insurance companies in some insurance transactions to be made by businesses. Routine checks such as cable inspection, insulation test, and protection measures are the checks that must be made at regular intervals for safety. However, conformity tests, including the above-mentioned control points, are a must to ensure long-lasting safety of the facility.
