What is BRC Food Food Safety System?


With the increasing population of the world day by day, the need for food is increasing in direct proportion. In the world where hundreds of thousands of tons of food production and consumption is experienced every day, the necessary organizations and governments bring various regulations and regulations to control this system and to ensure production within the framework of certain standards and rules.

The BRC standard (British Retail Consortium) was first developed by the British supermarket chain association. This standard requires companies in the sector to comply with standards to ensure safety and quality in food and to obtain approval by documenting it. 

The BRC Food Standard was developed by retailers, food industry experts and related organizations. In the standard 1998 was released with the first version and currently 7. version is valid. The framework of the standard establishes how food safety, integrity, legality and quality should be managed in food and food input producing, processing and packaging industries.

The BRC Food standard has been prepared for all food manufacturers regardless of the size and capacity of the organization. Thanks to the BRC Food certificate, companies that produce private label products for retailers or manufacturers who want to sell their products in the UK market have proven that they fulfill the requirements for the product.
