Lift Periodic Inspection

Lift Periodic Inspection

It is a machine layout that consists of a platform cabin that is used to lower and lift loads or people vertically from low or high places. The elevator is a vehicle that is used to transport loads and people vertically. Elevator has become an indispensable tool, especially in cities. As a result of the increasing land values in cities, the construction of higher buildings has made elevators necessary for people to reach the upper floors. There are also elevators that carry loads in constructions and factories.

The use of elevators without periodic inspections is illegal and extremely dangerous. If the periodic inspections of the elevators are not carried out, they are sealed by the municipalities and closed for use. Elevator maintenance is carried out on a monthly basis to check the general condition of the elevator and to eliminate its deficiencies. However, periodic inspection is a detailed inspection to determine whether the elevator is suitable for use in terms of life and property safety. Periodic control and maintenance of the elevator are also checked.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade issued the Elevator Maintenance and Operation Regulation in 2008. Elevators, which are used to transport people and cargo, should operate in a way that does not threaten the health and safety of people, all living beings and the environment.

The regulation was issued in order to determine the rules to be followed for the operation, maintenance, annual inspections, control of maintenance and service, warranty conditions and after-sales services of elevators. According to this regulation, elevators must be inspected at least once a year, two years after they are put into service. These inspections are carried out in order to protect the safety of life and property of elevator users.

The periodic checks that must be carried out every year are carried out by mechanical engineers or electrical-electronic engineers or personnel who have been trained in periodic checks of elevators.

On the other hand, the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security on the basis of the Occupational Health and Safety Law sets out the minimum conditions that must be complied with in terms of health and safety during the use of work equipment at workplaces.
