Although we are in the infancy of space, we have a long history of aviation as a country. In the middle of the 1900 years, important steps have been taken in the design and production of aircraft in our country, but these efforts have not yielded fruit. Although aircraft manufacturing started in the years with 1980, these works were limited to assembly operations only. It did not contribute to the development of national design skills.

Today, parts design and manufacturing are still carried out in this sector and serious progress is being made in this field. However, product-based design and development activities have not reached the desired level. Today, the sector still maintains its foreign dependency. In addition, the capacity of special test systems has not been sufficient at key points in the aviation sector.

The entity requesting the AS 9100 Certificate first completes the application form completely and then the certification body performs the following steps.

Quality Verifies that the manual complies with AS 9100 requirements.
Verifies the application level / status.
Verifies the scope of the certificate.
Checks compliance with the legislation.
Draw up a report indicating non-conformance or potential nonconformities and, if necessary, agree on a corrective action plan.
It prepares an audit plan for the second stage and determines an audit date.
Prepare an evaluation plan and determine the date of the Second Stage evaluation visit.

After all these steps have been taken, the second stage is proceeded and the certification body performs the following procedures.

Performs audits by taking samples from the processes defined in the scope of the certificate.
Document how the system complies with the standard.
Report nonconformities or potential nonconformities.
A monitoring plan is established and decides the date of the first monitoring audit.

If the auditor encounters a major nonconformity, the organization shall not be entitled to receive a certificate by correcting the nonconformity until it is corrected and verified. otherwise, the company is provided with a certificate. The validity period of the certificate is three years and surveillance inspections are required every year.
