What is the Halal Food Certification Certification Process?


In order to certify that their products are halal, businesses that produce in accordance with Islamic religion must first apply to a certification body. When the application form to be received from this institution is completed and submitted in full, the certification process starts.

After the necessary interviews and detailed information has been obtained and the agreement has been reached, a contract is made between the certification body and the company requesting the certificate and the scope, dimensions and method of the study are determined. The certification body then initiates a pre-audit work on the records and documentation prepared by the company. During this work, the certification body may request additional information and documents from the company.

After the preliminary inspection is completed and some minor shortcomings are completed, the actual inspection work begins at the company's production facilities and offices. The fact that the firm is in compliance with the standards and how well it conforms to the religious requirements emerges in this control.

Upon completion of this audit work, the auditors shall issue a report describing the company's observations and their results. The decision of the certification body is based on this report. The auditors' report is evaluated by the board of directors, if any, within the organization and, if appropriate, the Halal Food Certificate is issued for the company's products.

The certificate is not for the company, but for the products it produces.
